After feeling a little gloomy about the UK landscape for digital services, I’ve pulled myself up by the bootstraps and created a ‘DIY’ section.
When an organisation can’t find what they want in the UK, rather than default to big tech, why not try self-hosting? There are some incredible tools to facilitate this, and the UK is well provisioned for hosting providers. Of course, this is not an endorsement of any particular software, and you should always get advice to ensure everything is stable and secure.
It’s also a great alternative for agencies and innovators to quickly spin up services using UK infrastructure, and avoid ‘getting stuck’ on the AWS / Azure treadmill.
