Governed by UK law

The United Kingdom has three separate legal systems; one each for England & Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. This reflects its historical origins and the fact that both Scotland and Ireland, and later Northern Ireland, retained their own legal systems and traditions under the Acts of Union 1707 and 1800.

For the purposes of this site, we’ll mark any organisation bound by any of the UK’s legal systems as being “governed by UK law”.

We endeavour to keep this list up-to-date, but you should always make an assessment based on your needs.
